This is for the Change challenge, but is also in the attempt to kickstart myself into writing the sequel to 'Resistance', though I don't expect that this will actually make it into that story.

Set at the absolute end of Prince Caspian; his former Nurse and Tutor assess changes, and the need for change.

Initially, I wanted to write something short and sweet but somehow it ran away from me and became a bit more serious...

Susan Pevensie is 46 years old, the matron of a prestigious boarding school, and has just found her seventh white hair when her hand alights on the applewood box on her vanity table. It is cold, and dusty, but warms and hums beneath even the gentlest touch of her fingers, and lost in a memory as pale as dreaming she opens the box, slips a ring upon her finger, and rises through a wave of sweet water and light. The wood is ancient and new at once, a country all her own. She sighs, settles against quiet bark, and sleeps.

Let's hear more about the Wood Between the Worlds. Who else managed to get into it? Did Digory or Polly ever go back? Did any Narnians? Where do the other pools go? How are the pools created, or destroyed? Why are there trees? And whatever happened to that guinea-pig?

The poll seems to be strongly for two weeks to write, so we'll try that for a while. Get your fills in by January 20th -- new prompt on the 21st.

The Lucy account borrows from [livejournal.com profile] pencildragon11's 'verse (thanks for letting me play with your characters! Twas delightful!

My headcanon, let me show you it... )

Oh boy!  There has been much wrangling with machines to get this finally to the page...  There's about three thousand words' worth behind the cut, in a tale of the Beruna Merchants' Guild, grappling with change.

This was concocted in cahoots with [livejournal.com profile] pencildragon11, who wrote the tale of Foggybog the Frippilous, while I went forward in history and wrote the tale of the arrival of Foggybog II, son of Puddleglum, and his overly-excited big sister. Hope you like this frippilous little tale.

The young Wigglet tucked her lanky green legs underneath her and wriggled happily on the bank, pole in hand.
