Hello! So, for those of you that don't know, NFFR kind of pissed some people off with the Revolution Awards last year. (Understandably.) So, we've decided to completely change the way they are run and it's hopefully going to be a LOT BETTER.

First of all, all of the stories in this year's awards will be BRAND NEW! That's right - much like how the NFE gets people writing and churns out amazing new stories, we're hoping that the Rev Awards will do the same thing, with slightly different rules.

Step One: NFFR is accepting prompts for stories RIGHT NOW until December 18th.  We will accept two prompts per person. Please keep prompts fairly general so there is freedom to write in many styles/genres and with many different characters. When prompt submissions are closed on December 18th, 2010, everyone will be able to vote on which 3 prompts they like the best.  Prompt winners will be announced on January 1st, 2011, and Step One turns into Step Two…

Step Two: Choose a prompt and begin writing a story as soon as the prompts are announced!  ANYONE, whether a member of NFFR or not, can WRITE AND SUBMIT A STORY! ANYONE! You can choose as many prompts as you wish, so if you want to submit one story for all three prompts (three stories total), go for it. You may not submit more than one story per prompt. Stories should be self contained oneshots – these are very general guidelines, but we all know what a oneshot is and your story must conform to those limits.  If you have specific questions, please contact me, writeonkate, or metonomia directly.  You will have from January 1st, 2011 to March 14th, 2011 to write your stories. Stories are due by 11:59 pm on Monday, March 14th, no exceptions.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Stories will not be sent through our screening team and will not automatically be added to the NFFR Story Directory.  After the awards are over, you may submit your story to the site and it will go through the regular screening process then.

Step Three: Stories are posted! The deal with these awards, though, is that stories will be submitted and posted anonymously, so favoritism is out of the question.  Winners will be solely based on the quality of the stories themselves and NOT on who their author is. Voting will begin after all of the submitted stories have been posted long enough for people to read them and these particular dates are flexible.

Step Four: VOTE! Easy enough. Details about categories and the actual voting process will come much later. One step at a time!

NFFR is also going to offer anonymous beta services for the awards, but details about that will be released at a later date.

Right NOW it is time to submit prompts. Remember, two prompts per person will be accepted. You may submit your prompts here at the LJ Community as a comment or HERE at the NFFR message boards.

Please spread the word about the awards and try to get people involved - remember that anyone can submit a story based on one of the winning prompts! We've already had SUCH awesome fic come from the NFE this year - lets get even more awesome stories from the new Revolution Awards!
