Heeeeeeeeeeeello! So, we've been talking about starting a LJ Community FOREVER on the NFFR boards because it seems like LJ is really where it's at when it comes to quality Narnia fanfic. We hope that this community will serve as a place that is solely focused on fanfic; not just posting finished products, but tossing around ideas, asking for betas, volunteering to BE a beta, etc. We want the whole process covered, from cultivation to finished product.
Rules here will be loose and simple. I can sum them up by simply saying that the only rule will be don't be an asshole. And that pretty much covers it.
Content of your stories is up to you - we will allow anything to be posted here because our members have brains, and if they don't want to read something, they don't have to read it. So, post away, no matter what the content of your story.
My fellow mods (so far) are
metonomia and
be_themoon Thanks for volunteering, ladies!
And feel free to post a little about yourself in a comment here so we can figure out who everyone is! I'll start...
I am IrishSongBird, second in command at NFFR, in charge of half of Revolution Radio and Supreme Commander of AsCast, NFFR's podcast. I know little to nothing about HTML and all of that good stuff, so I leave that to TastyAsItGets. I write, but I'm not very good at it, and have only one story going at the moment, "Like the Touch of Rain." Or LTTOR, as it's known on NFFR. I am about to be 25 and at the moment, I teach reading classes. I'm hoping to move within the next few months either to New Orleans, LA or the Tampa Bay area - it all depends on which school I decide to go to in order to get my Master's in Education. But a move is DEFINITELY called for because I dislike the Midwest with a passion. I have REALLY enjoyed getting to know everyone from the NFFR forum and I know there are even more great people on LJ that don't post there, so I hope everyone starts posting HERE! :)
Edit : I also forgot to say yesterday that I snagged the awesome icon from alexielnet here on LJ. The text was too perfect!
If someone here makes icons, feel free to post them in the comm.

Date: 2010-09-30 06:35 pm (UTC)So. Introduction, yes?
I am WingedFlight, or Winged for short. I've been at NFFR for just over a year now (I think) and started posting on ff.net in the fall of 2008. I write primarily one-shots, and occasionally the longer story, which , if I'm smart, I write completely before posting. I live up in Alberta, Canada, do occasionally end my sentences in "eh?" and am just beginning my first year of university. (Eek!) I am an Irish dancer, and compete usually once every month/two months, not including summer.
Besides Narnia, favorite fandoms at the moment are Doctor Who, Chuck, Merlin, and Dollhouse, and am planning on watching Supernatural when I get an extended length of free time.

Date: 2010-09-30 06:43 pm (UTC)I'm Meto, I'm 19 and at college in Seattle. I've been at NFFR for...a bit over a year now, and there I am on the screening team, do the (newly-delegated) interview section of AsCast with LaRM, and read fic for Rev Radio.
Writing-wise I am not the most prolific, but I do have a few projects going right now and one is Narnia, so hooray! Lately I've been really getting into vidding, and that's super awesome, too. Other fandoms are SPN, Merlin, Nikita, and Dr. Who.
So glad we're starting this comm up!

Date: 2010-09-30 11:02 pm (UTC)I'm Tenae over at the NFFR forum (and Selene Antilles on FF.N - way too many names, I know, but Tenae is really me so let's go with that.) I am an art history major from California who hopes to study in San Francisco and then London over the next several years.
I've been kind of out of the Narnia fandom for a while what with starting my first year of college and since finishing my first major fic, With All Her Faults, but am getting back into it with the sequel going up soon!

Date: 2010-09-30 11:24 pm (UTC)I am Hev and I am NFFR's Graphic Artist, Forum Mod, and one of the original hosts of AsCast. I've been sort of MIA as of late because I have been on a world carnival tour wrestling grisly bears dressed in lederhosen. The crowds really dig the show, though I haven't quite figured out how to get them to stop feeding the bears corn-dogs. In my spare time I put on a tasseled jumpsuit and do stunts under my stage name Marty McDie. I also like long walks on the beach and watching the sunset from a picturesque grassy knoll behind the Sears parking lot where I spend most of my afternoons salvaging early 90's Lisa Frank scratch and sniff stickers inside my Astro van.
I've been writing my fic, The Gypsy's Daughter (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4383694/1/The_Gypsys_Daughter), for....sheesh...over 2 years. I'm determined to finish it even though no one really reads it--but it's just something for me, I guess.
Okay. Play me off keyboard cat!

Date: 2010-10-01 12:25 am (UTC)I'm Snacky, I'm from Massachusetts, I have had a long and varied career (tv production, advertising and marketing, bookseller, academia, charitable organizations) and am, thanks to the lovely economy, currently unemployed and looking for a new job. Which, on the plus side, gives me plenty of time to work on ALL THE FIC. Also, lots of time for teaching myself how to knit, and making ice cream, and playing with my nieces and nephews.
I have been active in online fandom since the mid '90s, and have been in various fandoms such as X-Files, Buffy/Angel, LOTR, BSG, LOST, X-Men, S:AAB, Sports Night, and SPN. I have loved the Narnia books since I first read them when I was 8 years old, and I am really loving the active fandom for them. I'm rather new to NFFR, but LJ and DW are my main online hangouts these days.
Two other things you may already know about me: I mod Fandom_Wank, a wretched hive of scum and villainry; and I made up a law, which has caught on in some circles online.

Date: 2010-10-01 05:53 pm (UTC)I.. can't remember how long I've been on NFFR? Probably about a year, because I helped LaRM get Meto into SPN just before the end of S5, and that was a while after I joined. I think? I am SO bad at dating things on the internets. (As you can tell me, my methods are scattered and fairly inaccurate.)
I've been in Narnia fandom longer than that, though. I'm primarily LJ based, though I do use ff.net and AO3 as (generally secondary) archiving areas.
I'm a senior in high school. My current other favorite fandoms are Doctor Who, Nikita, Supernatural, Law and Order: UK, and White Collar. (I also watch more casually Primeval, Undercovers, Leverage, The Event, and Merlin, though I'm far behind on that.)
I am possibly far too involved in internet fandom.
Also I write a lot! Currently almost all original fiction, though.
